Le Dune di Campomarino, nel comune di Maruggio, sono uno dei luoghi naturali più belli che ho incontrato nel mio viaggio in terra di Puglia. Insieme alla Salina dei Monaci, offrono un panorama unico al mondo.
Con un’altezza di 12 metri, queste dune di sabbia si affacciano direttamente sulla costa. Ginepro e timo si mischiano al finocchio marino. Le stagioni mutano i colori della macchia mediterranea e il mare si veste del suo azzurro più acceso quando esce fuori il sole.
E’ proprio questo suo cambiare continuo a renderla ancora più speciale. In ognuno dei dodici mesi dell’anno si susseguono colori e forme sempre differenti. Da tornarci e tornarci ancora. Per vederle in Autunno con un cielo che promette tempesta e in Estate quando la sabbia è ocra e il mare trasparente.
Per tutti i Born Romantic come me: il luogo dove riallinearsi con il resto dell’universo, in un pomeriggio di inizio Ottobre quando in spiaggia non c’è nessuno.

The Dunes of Campomarino, in the municipality of Maruggio, are one of the most beautiful natural places I have encountered on my trip to the land of Puglia. Together with the Salina dei Monaci, they offer a unique view of the world.
With a height of 12 meters, these sand dunes face directly onto the coast. Juniper and thyme mix with sea fennel. The seasons change the colors of the Mediterranean maquis and the sea dresses in its brightest blue when the sun comes out.
It is precisely this change that continues to make it even more special. Colors and shapes change in each of the twelve months of the year. Come back and come back again. To see them in Autumn with a sky that promises a storm and in Summer when the sand is ocher and the sea is transparent.
For all Born Romantic like me: the place to realign with the rest of the universe, on an early October afternoon when nobody is on the beach.
